Ik ben Thibo en ik ben tweedejaars bachelorstudent in de biomedische wetenschappen. Net zoals de meesten van ons zit ik ook vast in mijn kot. De eerste dagen brachten zoals verwacht pure verveling en bingewatchen. Maar na enkele dagen besefte ik dat ik op zoek moest naar een manier om me op een nuttige en productieve manier bezig te houden.
Congratulations to Michelle Zurek, Masterās student in Biomedical Sciences, for winning the prestigious ActUA Prize 2020. The ActUA prize is awarded by the UAntwerp Service Council. It promotes personal development through an internship abroad at one of the partner institutions of the Young Universities for the Future of Europe (YUFE) alliance.
Claudio DāIncal is a PhD student and Teaching Assistant in the Proteinchemistry, proteomics and Epigenetic Signaling Lab. He completed a Master in Molecular and Cellular Biomedical Sciences. After he completed his MSc, he did an Educational Masterās degree at UAntwerp and combined his interest in teaching and research.

I’m Georgios Petrellis and Iām an international student in the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Biomedical and Veterinary Sciences. I’m currently doing an internship at the NIH in the USA. Similarly to Belgium, we are also in a lockdown.

PhD training programs are often too focused on academia. Thanks to a European initiative, the Innovative Training Network, PhD students can perform research at two different universities and also obtain practical training in a pharmaceutical company.
Iām Laura Vangenechten a Master’s student in Biochemistry & Biotechnology. Belgium is currently in a COVID-19 enforced lockdown, thus I have a lot of extra time at home. If you need to stay at home for a long period of time, itās important to remain intellectually active. You can use a few hours a day to enhance your skills. Iāve been learning the programming language āPythonā.
Due to the Coronavirus, we had to cancel all our practical classes on the campus. But, our faculty set up state-of-the-art virtual practical physiology classes. Our students now have access to some of the most advanced remote learning tools.
Mijn naam is Larissa Bultena en ik zit in mijn eerste bachelor jaar van biomedische wetenschappen. Zoals je al misschien hebt gemerkt heeft het Covid19-virus de hele wereld in bedwang. Ook Nederland en Belgiƫ. Ik ben een Nederlandse student die in Belgiƫ studeert. Hierdoor zit ik momenteel vast in mijn eigen huis in Nederland.
Het zijn ongewone tijden met COVID-19 en we moeten met zijn allen nog een tijdje in ons kot blijven. Maar hoe ga je daar als student dan het beste mee om? Wat moet je al die tijd doen?
