On Friday 8 August, Antwerp once again turned every shade of the rainbow during the Antwerp Pride Parade. The University of Antwerp was there, hand in hand with KdG, AP and AMA under the joint AUHA UNITED flag. On the AUHA parade float, we spoke with students and staff about visibility, inclusion and the meaning of this year’s theme, ‘Fearless’.

He, him, she, her, they, them… How should you address people? Are you 100% sure of their gender identity? In light of this year’s International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersexphobia and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT) on 17 May, UAntwerp is focusing on gender-aware and gender-inclusive communication. Get started with it today, and actively contribute to a more inclusive society.
In early June, our university launched an appeal to share experiences and suggestions with the aim of improving diversity, which was named ‘Black Lives Matter @ UAntwerp’. This resulted in a flurry of reactions and initiatives. But what has happened since then? Time for an update.
