A faculty thrives on collaboration, but how do you ensure that colleagues truly feel heard? Tom Breugelmans, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Engineering (FTI), found inspiration on the radio: a daily check-in as a way to connect. Meeting every morning wasn’t feasible, but the idea stuck. The result? Voluntary one-on-one coffee moments between the dean and the FTI ZAP members, arranged by appointment. Now, years later, the initiative is a proven success.
The opening of the new academic year is the perfect moment take a moment to look at the familiar streets and squares of our Stadscampus through a different lens: Rector Herman Van Goethem guides us along seventeen special locations with the aid of an app and old photos.
We’ve made it through the second week of the step challenge. This week we hear from ‘The Unicorns on the Move’ – a team of two colleagues from ICT, one engineer and two Revakis (Rehabilitation Sciences and Physiotherapy).
On Monday 16 November, 813 members of UAntwerp staff (good for 163 teams) started the Millionaire Team Step Challenge. Every week during the challenge, one or more teams will be sharing their experiences on the blog. First up: the step teams in the Communications Department.
