House sparrows, black redstarts, swifts and bats can once again find their way to Stadscampus. In collaboration with the Infrastructure Department, the UAntwerp Climate Team and Natuurpunt, first-year architecture students have developed a whole host of animal houses with the aim of boosting biodiversity on campus.
On Saturday 12 August, UAntwerp once again participated in Antwerp Pride with a personalised float and live DJ set. Our university was one of 74 delegations at the biggest Antwerp Pride ever.

The weather gods can be fickle, which they showed during Unifiesta – the University of Antwerp’s staff party. Despite the rain, about 1,200 employees enjoyed watching musical colleagues on stage, savoured delicious food and drinks at the food trucks, and socialised with colleagues. A layer of mud on their shoes didn’t dampen the mood.

On Friday 13 January, for the first time since 2020, UAntwerp’s New Year’s reception took place in-person. More than a thousand employees gathered in and around the Rector Dhanis lecture hall to festively toast to 2023.
On Thursday 24 November 2022, we organised our annual information evening for prospective students and their parents. The central theme was ‘Do I choose university, or do I choose college?. We immersed them into all the aspects involved when making that choice.
Our annual staff party Unifiesta finally took place again on 19 May 2022, three years after the previous edition. The sun, musical colleagues, go-karts, good food and drinks made it a fantastic edition. We made a summary of the highlights for you.
After 28 days of collecting exercise minutes, the March 2022 edition of the Keep Moving Challenge is over. 382 participants gave the best of themselves to walk, cycle or hike a little bit extra every week.
