Lockers give way to multifunctional space

From a hall full of lockers, to a new space to meet up and host exhibitions. The Stadscampus library has added a cosy new area, including a coffee corner.

The entrance hall of the Stadscampus library underwent a small transformation. The lockers that used to fill the hall have been removed since they were no longer being used. This made room for a multifunctional space to meet up, hold lectures or host exhibitions.

Besides fixed seats, there is flexible furniture that makes it possible to set up the space differently. A handy feature for when an exhibition takes place. There is also a coffee corner where visitors can enjoy a delicious cup of coffee or tea, or get a refreshing drink or snack from the vending machines. Finally, a stage makes it possible to organise lectures and presentations there.

Repurposed lockers

Together with the Environment Office, the library staff searched for a new place for the old lockers. The lockers have been moved to Buildings D.O and D.M on Campus Drie Eiken and to various other places spread across all our campuses.

The Infrastructure Department took care of moving the lockers, while colleagues from the Mechanics Workshop changed the locks to a simple system which only requires your own padlock. Students are free to use the lockers.
