Whoever steps into the right wing of the 16th-century Hof van Liere finds themselves in an oasis of calm on the Stadscampus. Behind the historic façades lies the Universiteitsclub: a refined restaurant where quality, hospitality and sustainability come together. House sparrows, black redstarts, swifts and bats can once again find their way to Stadscampus. In collaboration with the Infrastructure Department, the UAntwerp Climate Team and Natuurpunt, first-year architecture students have developed a whole host of animal houses with the aim of boosting biodiversity on campus.
From a hall full of lockers, to a new space to meet up and host exhibitions. The Stadscampus library has added a cosy new area, including a coffee corner.
What started off as just an idea by two staff members who wanted to ‘do something coronaproof’ with their colleagues has turned into a full-fledged exhibition with no fewer than 41 works of art. You can visit The Arty Farty Library in the Stadscampus library until 15 April.
