I’m so glad I wasn’t living in Italy, Spain or France at the peak of this corona pandemic. There they weren’t allowed out for two months, except for essential shopping trips. Exercise? You can do that at home. So professional cyclists had to do their training sessions on rollers for two months. My idea of hell.
I’m so glad we were still allowed out to go cycling, walking and running. My bike once again became my favourite way to let off steam during the corona lockdown. Working from home also makes it easier to jump on your bike at the end of the working day and explore the beautiful Rupel region.
I’m so glad it’s been such nice weather during the lockdown. As the weeks go by, you start looking for new routes to cycle, or even better, you start turning your bike rides into experiments. Like cycling the University of Antwerp logo, for example, something that some colleagues and I had started joking about. But hey, it doesn’t hurt to go crazy, so I decided to take that challenge seriously.
Can you do better? Send your attempt to pintra@uantwerpen.be and we will compare all entries.
Good luck!
