On this blog, members and guest authors publish short contributions on subjects related to the field of political history.<\/p>\n<p>We use a broad interpretation of the concept &#8216;politics&#8217;, that is all attempts at consciously ordering society and the conflicts that may arise from these attempts. The orbit of our research encompasses the study of political institutions, international relations, political theories, ideologies, cultures, movements, and minorities. PoHis encourages interdisciplinary research in which historians, anthropologists, political scientists, jurists, philosophers, and others can add to our understanding of the past. It also wants to cross the traditional divide between historical periods, bringing together medievalists, early modernists, modernists and contemporary historians; and between western and non-western history by its recent expansion into the pre-modern and modern Islamic world.<\/p>\n<p>Be sure also to visit our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uantwerpen.be\/en\/research-groups\/power-in-history\/\">official webpage<\/a> or follow us on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/CentreforPoliticalHistory\">Facebook<\/a>\u00a0or <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/power_history\">Twitter<\/a> for regular updates on our research, publications, activities, members, students and much more.<\/p>\n<p>Authors who are interested in submitting a contribution to the blog can contact Anse De Weerdt (anse.deweerdt@student.uantwerpen.be).<\/p>\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>Welkom op de blog van <strong>Power in History: het Centrum voor Politieke Geschiedenis (PoHis)<\/strong> aan de Universiteit Antwerpen. Op deze pagina publiceren onderzoeksleden en gastschrijvers korte artikelen over de brede waaier aan onderwerpen die onder de noemer &#8216;politieke geschiedenis&#8217; vallen.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We hanteren een ruime interpretatie van het concept \u2018politiek\u2019, namelijk alle bewuste pogingen om de samenleving te organiseren en de conflicten die daaruit kunnen voortkomen. Ons onderzoek behelst de geschiedenis van politieke instellingen, internationale betrekkingen, politieke theorie\u00ebn, ideologie\u00ebn, culturen, bewegingen en minderheden. Daarnaast trachten we via interdisciplinaire samenwerking met antropologen, politieke wetenschappers, juristen, filosofen en anderen tot een beter begrip van het politieke verleden te komen.
