In just a few months, 11000 students from Antwerp\u2019s higher education institutions will graduate, including 2500 graduating students from UAntwerp. A milestone, but also the start of a new chapter. To help them prepare, the Association of Universities & Colleges of Antwerp (AUHA)<\/strong> hosted the first edition of Moving Forward<\/em> on 26 February at Antwerp Expo, a remarkable collaboration between all partners. More than just a job fair, the event became a true meeting point for talent, employers, and entrepreneurship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More than a job fair<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The transition from studying to working raises many questions: Where to find the right job? Should you pursue further studies? How to start as an entrepreneur? Moving Forward<\/em> provided answers. 250 companies and organizations<\/strong> presented themselves to students from UAntwerp, AP Hogeschool, KdG Hogeschool and Antwerp Maritime Academy<\/strong>. Alongside job opportunities and networking, students explored postgraduate programs and specializations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AUHA Chairman Jan van den Nieuwenhuijzen<\/strong> highlighted the event\u2019s broad scope: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe don\u2019t just connect students with employers; we also encourage young entrepreneurship and innovation. Even international career opportunities were explored.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A successful first edition<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To attract students, an eye-catching campaign was launched, which proved highly effective: more than 4000 students registered, 3000 attended the fair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This initiative is more relevant than ever. With a tight labour market, graduates are in a strong position. \u201cAntwerp is heading towards full employment.There are more vacancies than new entrants to the job market, with opportunities in all fields, from healthcare and technology to the arts and sciences.\u201d<\/em> said Van den Nieuwenhuijzen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Smart branding for a clear and effective event<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To create a structured and professional atmosphere, Moving Forward<\/em> adopted a uniform branding<\/strong> approach, avoiding partner or corporate colours. Each sector, from healthcare and entrepreneurship to technology and consultancy, was assigned a unique colour, helping students navigate the event with ease.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even students themselves were visually identifiable: their lanyards matched their field of study<\/strong>, making it easier for exhibitors to engage in targeted conversations. This thoughtful approach ensured an event that was not only visually appealing but also highly functional.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With a successful first edition behind us, Moving Forward<\/em> is set to return on March 6 next year!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
