Wessel Meijer has been engaged in the internationalization of higher education for more than 25 years as an all-round international relations manager. Over the years, he has had various roles and positions, both as a manager and as a specialist. He is currently the Director of the International Office of Radboud University Nijmegen, leading a team of 35 dedicated professionals in the field of international admissions, European projects, scholarships, mobility schemes, Radboud Summer School and strategy development. His past experience includes similar positions at Fontys University of Applied Sciences, Utrecht University and Utrecht School of the Arts. He has been elected as a board member of the European Association of International Education (EAIE). For this organization and on other occasions, he has acted as a presenter and chair in workshops and sessions on various topics, ranging from operational to strategic. He especially enjoys being a trainer for a highly valued management course in the EAIE Academy for those new in the field of internationalization. He is also a member of the editorial board of ‘Transfer’, the Dutch professional magazine for internationalization of education. For more than ten years, he has been active as an assessor of educational cooperation project proposals for the European Commission and the Dutch National Agency, The Nuffic.
