Sabine Pendl is the Director of the International Relations Office at the University of Graz in Austria, where she manages a team of 30 staff. She served as the vice-president of the European Association for International Education (EAIE) between October 2016 and September 2018 and took over the organization’s presidency for a two-year period in October 2018. Sabine has been active in the field of internationalization for 25 years and can draw on profound experience in all areas of internationalization in higher education. She has been managing international educational projects, learning mobility and summer schools and has worked as a trainer in different areas relating to higher education development. Sabine is also the author of various articles on international topics such as benchmarking or teaching in English, has been a speaker at numerous expert conferences around the world, and has chaired expert communities/task forces, for example, in the context of the EAIE (EAIE’s Expert Community Language and Culture) and the Utrecht Network (Summer Schools Task Force). Between 2005 and 2007 and again between 2014 and 2016 she was the president of the Utrecht Network. In addition, she worked for the German Rectors’ Conference as an auditor for the project ‘Internationalisation of Universities’.
