Zo versterkte de\nSint-Ignatius Handelshogeschool in 1959 haar curriculum met\nkandidaatsopleidingen in de Faculteit Letteren en Wijsbegeerte (inclusief\nRechten) en de Faculteit Politieke en Sociale Wetenschappen. In 1965, nauw\nverbonden met de wet op de universitaire expansie, onderging deze instelling\neen naamsverandering. Met uitzondering van de economische opleidingen, bleven de faculteiten beperkt tot de kandidaatsopleiding. In 1971, met de oprichting van de Universitaire Instelling Antwerpen (UIA) werden licentiaatsopleidingen ingericht. Niet veel later zouden UFSIA, RUCA en UIA onder \u00e9\u00e9n noemer varen, die van Universiteit Antwerpen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vanaf 1973 werkt de UFSIA samen met de UIA en het RUCA. Deze samenwerking zou in 1995 resulteren in de confederale Universiteit Antwerpen, die in 2003 werd omgevormd tot de eengemaakte universiteit met dezelfde naam. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De opleidingen aan UFSIA vonden plaats in het hart van de Antwerpse binnenstad, in en om de panden die aan het begin van de twintigste eeuw door de jezu\u00efeten in gebruik zijn genomen om hun onderwijs te organiseren, nu bekend als de Stadscampus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vijf rectoren hebben de UFSIA geleid van 1965 tot 2003: Etienne Dhanis s.J. (tot 1975), Louis Bruyns s.J. (tot 1984), Louis Van Bladel s.J. (tot 1988), Jean Van Houtte (tot 1995) en Carl Reyns (tot 2003).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery columns-2 is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex
