{"id":820,"date":"2019-09-09T12:08:28","date_gmt":"2019-09-09T12:08:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.uantwerpen.one\/collectief-geheugen\/?p=820"},"modified":"2019-10-08T07:36:00","modified_gmt":"2019-10-08T07:36:00","slug":"sint-ignatius-handelshogeschool","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.uantwerpen.be\/collectief-geheugen\/sint-ignatius-handelshogeschool\/","title":{"rendered":"Sint-Ignatius Handelshogeschool"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>In 1852 werd het Sint-Ignatiusinstituut voor middelbaar onderwijs gesticht door de Soci\u00ebteit van Jezus (jezu\u00efeten). Deze opleiding zou drie jaar later uitgebreid worden tot een \u00c9cole Sp\u00e9ciale de Commerce et d\u2019Industrie, die opleidingen aanbood van vier jaar middelbaar, gevolgd door twee jaar hoger onderwijs. De school was gevestigd aan de Korte Nieuwstraat 33, naast de Carolus Borromeuskerk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 1902, bij haar vijftigjarige bestaan, wordt de opleiding opnieuw uitgebreid. Nu wordt het een volwaardige school voor hoger onderwijs: de \u00c9cole Sup\u00e9rieure de Commerce. Hieruit ontstond uiteindelijk de Sint-Ignatius Handelshogeschool. In 1932 verhuisde de opleiding naar de huidige locatie van de universiteit: het Hof van Liere aan Prinsstraat 13. In 1965 werd ze omgevormd tot de Universitaire Faculteiten Sint-Ignatius (UFSIA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De laatste rector van de Sint-Ignatius Handelshogeschool was Etienne Dhanis s.J. Hij zou ook de eerste rector van de UFSIA worden. Zijn naam vinden we tegenwoordig nog terug in de in 2002 gebouwde  &#8216;Aula Rector Dhanis&#8217;, het grootste auditorium op de Stadscampus van de Universiteit Antwerpen (Kleine Kauwenberg 14). Vanaf 1959 kwamen daar drie nieuwe studierichtingen bij: Letteren en Wijsbegeerte (kandidaturen), Politieke en Sociale Wetenschappen (kandidaturen) en Rechtsgeleerdheid (kandidaturen).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Paneel aan de ingang<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Het metalen paneel hier op de bovenste foto is afkomstig van de gevel aan de inkom van Prinsstraat 13. Bij de overgang naar de UFSIA in 1965 is het paneel van de muur gehaald. Een van de toenmalige studenten heeft dit paneel &#8211; dat wekenlang onbeheerd tegen de muur bleef staan &#8211; uiteindelijk mee naar huis genomen.
