Dit was een project van professor Pierre Van Damme, vicedecaan van de Faculteit Geneeskunde en Gezondheidswetenschappen en topexpert op het gebied van infectieziektes. Vaccinopolis is een vaccinonderzoekcentrum, waar vaccins tegen infectieziektes uitgetest zullen worden. De coronacrisis bracht de uitbouw van het project in een stroomversnelling. 25 maart 2022 is Vaccinopolis geopend.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bij de eerste spadesteek van de bouw werd een tijdscapsule in de grond geplaatst met een bericht voor de toekomst. In de boodschap staat de impact van corona op onze samenleving omschreven.
